Wonton Soup

Here’s a nutritious and kid-friendly wonton soup recipe to delight your child:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups chopped bok choy or spinach
  • Sliced green onions for garnish

Steps:

  1. In a bowl, mix together the ground pork, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, white pepper, and cornstarch until well combined.
  2. Place a small spoonful of the pork mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges with water and fold in half to form a triangle, pressing the edges to seal.
  3. In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a simmer. Add the bok choy or spinach and cook for 2-3 minutes until wilted.
  4. Carefully drop the wontons into the simmering broth and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until they float to the surface and are cooked through.
  5. Ladle the soup into bowls, garnish with sliced green onions, and serve hot.
