Asian Chow Mein

Ingredients:
- 8 oz chow mein noodles
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup mixed vegetables (such as bell peppers, carrots, and snap peas)
- 1 cup cooked and shredded chicken or tofu
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional garnish: chopped green onions, sesame seeds
Instructions:
- Cook the chow mein noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and sliced onion, and sauté until fragrant.
- Add the mixed vegetables to the skillet and stir-fry for a few minutes until they start to soften.
- Push the vegetables to the side of the skillet and add the shredded chicken or tofu to the empty space. Cook for a few minutes until heated through.
