Asian Orange Chicken

Here’s a kid-friendly recipe for Asian orange chicken:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • Green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Cooked rice (for serving)

Instructions:

  1. Place the chicken pieces in a bowl and toss with 1/2 cup of cornstarch until evenly coated.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the coated chicken pieces and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes per side. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the orange juice, soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and rice vinegar. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  4. Stir in the cornstarch-water mixture and continue to simmer until the sauce thickens.
  5. Add the cooked chicken back to the skillet and toss to coat with the orange sauce.
  6. Serve the Asian orange chicken over cooked rice and garnish with sliced green onions.
