Chinese Broccoli with Garlic Sauce

Here’s a kid-friendly recipe for Chinese Broccoli with Garlic Sauce:

Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch of Chinese broccoli (also known as gai lan)
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional: sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Wash the Chinese broccoli and trim off the tough ends. Cut the broccoli into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and water. Set aside.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant.
  4. Add the Chinese broccoli to the pan and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, or until the broccoli is bright green and slightly tender.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture over the broccoli and stir to coat the broccoli evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the broccoli is cooked to your liking.
  6. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt if needed.
  7. Transfer the Chinese broccoli to a serving dish and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
