Ingredients:
- 2 cups shredded vegetables (cabbage, carrots, bell peppers)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1 spring onion, chopped for garnish
For the Manchurian sauce:
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, mix together the shredded vegetables, all-purpose flour, cornstarch, soy sauce, ketchup, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper. Use your hands to combine the mixture and form small balls.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully drop the vegetable balls into the oil and fry until they are golden brown. Remove the fried balls and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
- In a separate pan, prepare the Manchurian sauce by combining soy sauce, ketchup, cornstarch, water, sugar, and vinegar. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer until the sauce thickens.
- Once the sauce thickens, add the fried vegetable balls to the pan and gently toss them in the sauce until they are well coated.
