Easy Cheesy Baked Ziti

Here’s a kid-friendly recipe for easy cheesy baked ziti:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ziti pasta
  • 1 jar (24 ounces) of your favorite pasta sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage (cooked and drained)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ziti pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the pasta sauce, half of the mozzarella cheese, half of the Parmesan cheese, the ricotta cheese, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. If using, mix in the cooked and drained ground beef or Italian sausage.
  4. Add the cooked ziti to the sauce and cheese mixture, and stir until well combined.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a 9×13 inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
