Jajangmyeon
Here’s a kid-friendly recipe for Jajangmyeon:
Ingredients:
- 200g pork or chicken, diced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 small zucchini, diced
- 1 small potato, diced
- 1/2 cup black bean paste (Jajang)
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 2 servings of fresh or dried noodles
- Optional: sliced cucumbers for garnish
Instructions:
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the diced pork or chicken and cook until browned.
- Add the diced onion, zucchini, and potato to the pan and cook until the vegetables are slightly softened.
- Stir in the black bean paste, sugar, and soy sauce, coating the meat and vegetables evenly.
- Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. Let it cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- In a separate pot, cook the fresh or dried noodles according to the package instructions. Drain the noodles once they are cooked.
- To serve, place the cooked noodles in a bowl and spoon the jajang sauce over the top. Garnish with sliced cucumbers if desired.
