Mattar Paneer
Here’s a kid-friendly recipe for Mattar Paneer:
Ingredients:
– 1 cup paneer (cottage cheese), cubed
– 1 cup green peas (frozen or fresh)
– 2 tablespoons oil
– 1 onion, finely chopped
– 2 tomatoes, pureed
– 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
– 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
– 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
– 1 teaspoon coriander powder
– 1 teaspoon garam masala
– 1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
– Salt to taste
– 1/2 cup water
– 2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions:
1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
2. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute. Then add the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates from the mixture.
3. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a couple of minutes.
4. Add the green peas and paneer cubes to the mixture and stir gently to coat them with the spices.
5. Pour in the water, cover the pan, and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes until the peas are cooked and the flavors are well combined.
6. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve with rice or naan.
