Navigating the 2024 Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) for Post-Secondary Education in Singapore

As the culmination of years of hard work for Singaporean students, the opportunity to apply for admission to junior colleges (JC), Millennia Institute (MI), polytechnics, and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) through the Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) is a significant milestone. The JAE presents an essential gateway to further education and future career opportunities.

Eligible candidates, including school and private candidates, will receive a digital copy of Form A1 via their registered email addresses on Thursday, 11 January 2024. Alternatively, they can access Form A from the JAE-Internet System (JAE-IS) during the application period. This ensures that applicants have easy access to the necessary documentation for their JAE participation.

The JAE-IS will accept applications from 4.00pm on Thursday, 11 January 2024, to 4.00pm on Tuesday, 16 January 2024. The online application process involves submitting course choices through the JAE website at http://www.moe.gov.sg/jae. To aid in the decision-making process, applicants are strongly encouraged to utilize the JAE worksheet available at http://www.moe.gov.sg/jaeworksheet. Accessing the JAE-IS requires the use of Singpass, providing a secure method for applicants to submit their choices.

For a comprehensive understanding of available options, applicants can refer to the JAE website for specific details. Furthermore, the SchoolFinder and CourseFinder platforms offer valuable insights into the offerings, entry score ranges, and course options provided by JCs, MI, polytechnics, and ITE. These resources can guide students in making informed decisions as they navigate the JAE process.

Applicants can anticipate the release of posting results on Thursday, 1 February 2024, via Short Message Service (SMS) to the mobile number provided during application and through the JAE-IS accessible on the JAE website. This clear communication channel ensures that successful applicants are promptly informed of their admission status.

Those posted to JCs and MI are expected to report to their assigned institutions on Friday, 2 February 2024. In the event of exceptional circumstances preventing immediate reporting, these students should directly contact their respective schools to confirm their intent to enroll. Schools will accommodate genuine situations and reserve places accordingly.

For applicants posted to polytechnics or ITE, enrolment details will be communicated through email or mail packages by end-February 2024, streamlining the next steps in their educational journey.

The Joint Admissions Exercise plays a pivotal role in shaping the educational trajectory of Singaporean students, offering diverse paths to further learning and career advancement. By leveraging the accessible and comprehensive resources provided, applicants can confidently navigate the JAE process and embark on their desired educational pursuits.
