One-Skillet Lasagna

Here’s a kid-friendly recipe for One-Skillet Lasagna that’s easy to make and delicious!

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 8 ounces lasagna noodles (broken into pieces)
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Meat:
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent (about 3-4 minutes).
  • Add the ground beef or turkey. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  1. Add Tomatoes and Seasoning:
  • Stir in the crushed tomatoes, water, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil.
  1. Add Noodles:
  • Once boiling, add the broken lasagna noodles to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  • Reduce the heat to a simmer, cover, and cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the noodles are tender. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  1. Mix in Cheese:
  • Once the noodles are cooked, dollop spoonfuls of ricotta cheese over the top.
  • Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly over everything.
  • Cover the skillet again and let it cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  1. Serve:
  • Remove from heat, and let it cool for a couple of minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
  • Serve warm and enjoy your delicious one-skillet lasagna!
