Japanese Beef Burger

Here’s a kid-friendly recipe for a Japanese-style burger:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Sliced cucumbers
  • Ketchup

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix together the ground beef, panko breadcrumbs, egg, soy sauce, grated ginger, and brown sugar until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.
  3. Heat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  4. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
  5. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun, then topping with lettuce, tomato, and cucumber slices.
  6. Drizzle some ketchup on top of the vegetables.
  7. Place the top half of the bun on the burger and serve.
