How to Apply:
Applying for DSA-Sec is straightforward and can be done through the DSA-Sec Portal without any application fees. For those unable to apply online, the child’s primary school can provide assistance. If both parents are unable to submit the application personally at the school, a proxy can be nominated using the provided form, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to access the application process.
The following guide will help you navigate the application process and ensure a successful submission.
1. Gather Required Information Using the Application Template
Utilize the application template to gather all the necessary information with your child in advance. This will save time and ensure that you have everything ready for a seamless online application process.
2. Log in to DSA-Sec Portal Using Singpass Two-Factor Authentication
Ensure you have a Singpass Two-Factor Authentication (Singpass 2FA) to log in to the DSA-Sec Portal. If you don’t have one, find out how to register for Singpass and 2FA in advance to avoid any last-minute issues.
3. Indicate Choices and Talent Areas
You can indicate up to 3 choices and 3 talent areas for your child. If applying for 2 talent areas at the same school, be sure to indicate both separately as choices.
4. Share Primary School Information
In most cases, your child’s primary school information will be automatically shared with the applied DSA-Sec school(s). However, for School of the Arts and Singapore Sports School, you may need to handle direct admission separately. This information includes your child’s academic results, CCA involvement, achievements, and awards.
5. Provide Non-School Based Activities and Achievements
While this section is non-compulsory, you may provide up to 10 entries of non-school based activities and achievements related to your child’s chosen talent areas.
6. Accurately Enter Contact Details
Ensure that you enter your contact details correctly to facilitate contact from schools if your child is shortlisted for the selection process.
7. Ability to Update and Re-submit
You have the flexibility to update, withdraw, and re-submit your application during the application period.
8. Visit School Websites for Further Details
For more information and specific details about DSA-Sec selection at individual schools, visit their respective websites.
If Unable to Apply Online: Seek Assistance
If you encounter challenges with applying online, approach your child’s primary school for assistance. They can provide the necessary support and guidance throughout the process.
Proxy Form for Submission
If both parents are unable to submit the form to your child’s primary school personally, follow the proxy nomination process outlined, ensuring that all required documents are provided accurately to facilitate the submission.
