Fish Porridge

Here’s a nutritious and kid-friendly fish porridge recipe for your kid:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of rice
  • 4 cups of water
  • 1 tablespoon of cooking oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 cup of mixed vegetables (peas, corn, diced bell peppers)
  • 1 fillet of white fish (such as cod or tilapia), cut into small pieces
  • 4 cups of chicken or vegetable broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Steps:

  1. In a large pot, heat the cooking oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until fragrant.
  2. Add the diced carrot and mixed vegetables to the pot, and sauté for a few minutes until they start to soften.
  3. Add the rice to the pot and stir to combine with the vegetables.
  4. Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is cooked and the mixture has thickened to a porridge-like consistency.
  5. Add the fish pieces to the pot and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.
  6. Season the porridge with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Ladle the fish porridge into bowls and garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
