Teriyaki Chicken Bowl

Here’s a kid-friendly recipe for teriyaki chicken bowl for your kids:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • Steamed broccoli florets
  • Sliced carrots
  • Sliced cucumbers
  • Sesame seeds (optional)
  • Sliced green onions (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger to make the teriyaki sauce.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the chicken pieces over medium heat until no longer pink in the center.
  3. Pour the teriyaki sauce over the cooked chicken and stir to coat the chicken pieces. Simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Stir the slurry into the teriyaki sauce to thicken it further if needed.
  5. To assemble the teriyaki chicken bowl, place a serving of cooked rice in a bowl, then add the teriyaki chicken on top. Add steamed broccoli, sliced carrots, and cucumbers on the side.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired.
